Roland Chadwick originally from Australia, now lives and works in Surrey, England. In an over 40 year career his work has been focused primarily on composition and performance for the Spanish Guitar as a solo instrument (One and The Wild Romantic), and an ensemble instrument (The Revealing and The Modern Guitar Trio).

His work has also ranged over Blues (Native Tongue, The Blue Healers, Freedom Dreamer, King Biscuit - Monkeys To Rembrandt) World Music (Size of the Earth for Comparison, Freedom Dreamer, Saurang Orchestra) and Pop (PPF-EP).

Since arriving in the UK in 1998, Roland Chadwick has been hailed as a guitarist’s guitarist by the likes of John Renbourn and Tommy Emmanuel. His recordings with Steve Vai, Barriemore Barlow (Jethro Tull) and the English Chamber Orchestra are regarded as classics of their type. Other credits include: Mike Lindup - Level 42, Sir George Martin, Andy Sheppard, Alan Glen – The Yardbirds. Critics have been unanimous in their praise of his virtuosity, versatility and originality.

The Wild Romantic: This is a performance project promoting Roland's latest CD, The Wild Romantic. This CD is collection of his compositions for solo Spanish Guitar from as far back as the 1980's to the present. An alternate title might have been 'unashamedly romantic' because in a world that demands the weird from it's composers this is a set of pieces that celebrate melody and the romance that can only be found on the Spanish Guitar. This project features Roland's new guitar: Merlin. Merlin is a custom made Spanish Guitar by Pete Beer Guitars.

The Modern Guitar Trio: The MGT's first recording culminated in Roland's suite, The Wendy House being choreographed and performed by the San Francisco Ballet (for more info go to the News Page). The MGT's new performance program includes a new 6 part suite by Roland called Rococo Café. The following links are videos of the second live performance at the Phoenix Arts Centre in Bordon.

The Roland Chadwick/Nik Linnik Guitar Duo: This acoustic shred duo features the 18 year master shredder, Nik Linnik. A new CD is in the works but do catch them live sometime. It’s amazing!

After the Blood: In May 2010 Roland's partner, Valentina bought Roland a guitar for his birthday. Then the guitar started writing songs. By June enough songs for a double CD where written. This is long term project but we’ll keep you up dated on any developments.
